PeopleMetrics Self-Funded Employee Study:
Passion is Critical to Personal and Organizational Success

Philadelphia, April 9, 2007 –   PeopleMetrics announced its preliminary findings today from an independent self-funded Employee Engagement study with a sample size of over 5,000 U.S. respondents. Responses from employees were collected across several dimensions, including industry, gender, tenure and individual job performance.

 

This study is significant because it reveals a deep and more comprehensive view of the critical functional and emotional drivers of Employee Engagement. In particular, the study found that emotional aspects such as meaningful work, trustworthy leadership, future opportunities, connection with team mates, pride in the company's reputation, and feeling individually recognized and valued are more important in driving engagement and performance than functional elements such as: pay, benefits, and resources. Furthermore, employees who are passionate about their companies are the best performers, regardless of industry, tenure or gender.

"Our next step will be to drill more deeply into the differences in engagement across sub-groups - the purpose, as always, is to use our research to ensure our clients are achieving their desired business goals."

 

PeopleMetrics has published its findings of its self-funded study in a recent White Paper and is planning to launch a second self-funded survey studying functional and emotional drivers of Customer Engagement later this year. "The purpose of our self-funded employee and customer research efforts is to draw unbiased conclusions of what truly drives people engagement," noted Ms. Feather.
